What roleplay chatbot consistency actually looks like
Staying in character during the easy part is not the test. Staying in character when the scene turns explicit is.
A roleplay chatbot can hold a scene exactly as long as the scene stays inside a narrow lane. Push it into a pivot, an escalation or a tone the character would not normally use, and most break — the fiction peels away and the policy voice comes through. We tested for that break point specifically.
Across six different scenarios — a hotel bar, a stranded flight, a rooftop at 2AM, a snowed-in cabin, a library closing, and a holiday fling — the chatbot stayed in the scene and improvised within it. When we pivoted mid-scene from flirty to explicit, the character adapted rather than resetting. That is the claim and it held.
The limit: she is better at maintaining a scenario than at generating one from nothing. Give her a premise in one line and the rest follows; leave the opening blank and the scene defaults to a generic introduction. The partner is a collaborator, not a dungeon master.
